- Artist, writer and cultural entrepreneur Serena Kovalosky spent 18 years in the travel industry before retiring her backpack to focus on her goals as a visual artist. Moving into an artists' loft in Montreal, Canada she left behind the 9-to-5 corporate culture for a more creative lifestyle. Years later, she returned to her rural roots in upstate New York to further her artistic research of the organic form, and found herself drawn back into travel - exploring country roads from behind the wheel of an old Chevy Lumina. Combining her passion for food, art and travel, Kovalosky has taken on the role of an "Artful Vagabond" as she travels regularly (in-between art exhibitions) and chronicles her discoveries in this blog. Sounds like a lovely adventure! As it happens I have been through Gayville and even eaten at Tozier's, yet with your history, it will never look the same to me again. What an adventure! You took the unknown and made it pure fun. Loved what you discovered along the way about this unheard of little place. You're teaching even the most seasoned travelers (and daytrippers) how to wring as much pleasure as possible from wherever it is we find ourselves exploring. Serena, You inspire me, to go somewhere, to paint something, to do SOMETHING NEW, to get back to my own blog and write. I have been off in too many other directions lately. But I love your style, the chance encounters, the adventure, the fun.
